Invoices being created automatically despite no invoice option checked

Maybe I'm doing something wrong. I have pro-rated billing turned on. I added a new customer and added a product to their account, but I didn't want to invoice them automatically since they owed more than the pro-rated billing would have charged them on the first invoice. So I chose not to generate an invoice. Then, I created the invoice manually. It sent an e-mail to the customer with the invoice just created. No problem there.

 

But that night, during the automated run, WHMCS generated another invoice, pro-rated, and sent it to the customer. So now the customer is confused as to why he got two invoices when he should have only gotten one.

 

What am I doing wrong, if anything?

deselecting "create invoice" at order time supresses the real-time creation of the invoice

 

when the cron job runs, it will notice the product next due date < today and sends the invoice as it should

 

to accomplish what you wanted, you needed to have changed the next-due-date on the product to be next month
