SRobinson
Hi, Is it possible in WHMCS or PayPal to make the user pay the fee's rather than ourselves? Were going to make it clear that they have to pay the fee's but the fee's are starting to add up to quite allot as we do accept C/C aswell! Regards, Scott
HostOrca
Charging your customers the paypal fees is actually against paypals policies, if caught your paypal account could be suspended.
SRobinson
What a stupid policy... Maybe if there fee's wernt so stupidly expensive (it adds up!) then people wouldn't try to get around it.. Hmph.

How much are they charging you? It's only about 2 or 3 % isn't it?
merlinpa1969
unfortunatly paying fees is part of the cost of doing business. charging a fee to use any type of payment is against the terms of service for most things paypal, mc discover, visa, amex you need to build this fee structure into your pricing to begin with, not penalize your customers for trying to pay you..... DO you take checks? charge a fee for taking cc? how are people supposed to pay and get the price thats on the screen?
redrat
Fees for payment processing is not a penalty but a reflection of the cost involved in undertaking work on the vendor's behalf that they would otherwise have to do themselves. In that sense, it is a sub-contract labour payment. Why should anyone work for us for nothing?
Redsign
How much are they charging you? It's only about 2 or 3 % isn't it? 3.4% is the highest. Have a search on the forums- this has been discussed lots before, but to summarise: Incorportate the fees into your prices and offer incentives for customers to use other gateways and payment methods Ben
striddy
3.4% is the highest. That's about what I thought. It's a bit less where I am (2.4% max). @ SRobinson - Although nobody likes fees, it's just one of the things that come with running a business. At least Paypal fees are as a direct result of a sale. No sale, no fee. Not many other business fees are like that. If your pricing is so low that it's a problem, you may need to re-evaluate your selling prices.
yamaharr1
OK everyone has given there opinion but is there an answer to the question regardless if you agree with it or not? Is there anyway to make WHMCS account for those fees or not?
HostOrca
As far as I'm aware there is no way to do it in whmcs.

As far as I know NO there is no way to force a client to pay the paypal fees. and Since this is against paypals TOS I dont see the devs rushing out to make this happen and put their own accounts at risk.....
hightekhosting
No, there is no way to make your client pay the paypal fees instead of you....nor would I ever suggest even trying as it is completely against Paypal's TOS and should you be found doing this, Paypal will not hesitate in cancelling your account.
RandyC
The only way to really do this is to take what you plan to charge for hosting and find out what the paypal fees would be for it and tack that onto the price and add about 1 cent extra for the addition fee, and by doing so there is no way for them to tell if you are charging for the fee, it simple seems that it is the actual price you are charging and you can find that in court if needed as well.
yamaharr1
Just add it into the costs
