SRobinson
Hi Folks, Ive had a look around but couldn't really find one.. I'm looking for a gateway that accepts payments but takes a small amount from the payment rather than charging me monthly or a set fee. Any ideas? Cheers!
Smiles101
Why not simply use PayPal? PayPal has been around for years and they do exactly what you want. They simply take a fee from each sale. No monthly fees or anything like that. I've used them for years with no problems. Good Luck!
HostBizLng
Hi, I've been exploring whmcs and related services, and when it came to payment gateways, Google Checkout is free and PayPal too. In personal opinion these two online payment providers are great considering that a lot of people have PayPal accounts and they trust PayPal, and those who don't have PayPal do trust Google. (I haven't used them yet, so I cannot consider any problems that might arise with these well known companies.) Although, I did check Website Payments Pro, it is not free, but I wouldn't mind to pay monthly fee to PayPal for Payments Pro. But I think overall, Google and PayPal still offering free services (no monthly fees) and their reputation as trusted companies is just wonderful. Let us know if you find any good free payment gateway!
mojowill
PayPal are thieving gits! Be very careful using them as even with a business account they won't look after you (i lost over £3000 to them because of 'fraudulent' sales, after having a business account for 5+ years!) Have a look a 2checkout. Setup fee of $49 and then that's it no monthly fees only a 5.5% commission rate (which I know is higher than PayPal, but as I said PayPal are scum)
Smiles101
PayPal are thieving gits! Be very careful using them as even with a business account they won't look after you (i lost over £3000 to them because of 'fraudulent' sales, after having a business account for 5+ years!) Have a look a 2checkout. Setup fee of $49 and then that's it no monthly fees only a 5.5% commission rate (which I know is higher than PayPal, but as I said PayPal are scum) Hey mojowill, Although I've heard others' horror stories as well, I've personally never had a problem with them in the 10+ years I've used them. However, if I knew there may be a quick spike in sales, I would notify them ahead of time so their scripts wouldn't automatically detect me as a * artist. It seems (in most cases I've heard of) that a spike in sales is when these types of problems happen. But I will concede that they can freeze your account(s) and keep your funds as they see fit. So make sure you read their TOS and abide by them to avoid any problems. If you are abiding by their TOS and your account still gets frozen, you can get the situation handled and get access to your funds by talking to their customer support people. One of my partners had this happen and it was a pain for the few weeks his account was frozen, but he was able to get it handled and get his money back. As for another gateway, you can also look into ClickBank.com which is similar to 2Checkout, with a one-time setup fee and then a per sale %age fee. Hope this helps. KingJ
I've not had any major problems with PayPal either, but as there are many horror stories flying around, I make sure to keep the funds in my own control - as soon as I go over £50 in account balance, I withdraw it to my bank account.
merlinpa1969
you can contact paypal and they can turn on the feature for you to auto sweep funds into your bank account daily
mojowill
Dont go with 2Checkout they are scum.... too.... what makes you say that? I havent had any problems yet, but we usually do most of our transactions by bank transfer or cheque as we don't really use WHMCS for hosting as a primary income source
MACscr
I highly recommend cdgcommerce.com. They have a no monthly charge option. I also agree with the comment about 2checkout. They are shady.
charliez
maybe is a situation regarding accounts out of the US or UK or same kind of country... in my country they seem to think everything is fraudulent... first guilty and some times they do not even investigate... I will never do business with them or recommend them!

CDG is the merchant. You actually get Quantum Gateway as the free gateway that comes with cdg and is supported by whmcs.

One thing with Google Checkout, you cannot use them unless you have a secure site with a SSL certificate.
