meeven
I'm just coming off a thread in the ServInt.net user forums where they've said they tried to negotiate with WHMCS to offer it to their users, but WHMCS said they were no longer interested in partnerships with the hosting industry. As someone who is a customer of both WHMCS and ServInt.net, that's a huge let down. I just can't believe WHMCS isn't interested in a partnership with a hosting company that has thousands of users. Why not? The ServInt folk seemed to accept it and respected WHMCS' decision, but they were clearly puzzled.
openmind
I'm sure Matt and the team have valid reasons, sometimes it's better to turn down partnerships dependent on how to plan to move the business forward. I agree it does seem odd as it would appear to be a natural fit but again, I'm sure there are valid reasons for the decision...
chickendippers
We don't know the details of the partnership, maybe it wasn't beneficial for WHMCS? ServInt can always become WHMCS resellers, they certainly get benefits from that.
Dominic
I'd imagine offering it to Servint's thousands of customers at vastly reduced prices (ie lower than the lowest reseller tier I expect) would probably impact WHMCS's bottom line a little too much, seems the sensible reason at least.
brianoz
... and offering it at much less than reseller price isn't a partnership from WHMCS's point of view, it's a liability ... that is, if that was what the deal was.
