jackgordon
ok, I have read all of the similar topics I could find, but am still stumped. I just realized that whenever my pre-sales email form is used, it seems to go into a black hole. I am not receiving them. Under general settings, I have my correct email address set up. Under support, I have the "Clients Only" box unchecked. Is there something I am missing? This is a HUGE problem...
jackgordon
Well, I made some progress. It seems, just the free emails are not getting through. name@gmail.com fails, while name@mydomain.com works. Any ideas out there?
sparky
check your server email settings... the problem will be there
jackgordon
Can you elaborate? When I send an email directly from my gmail account, it gets there no problem. When I enter a gmail address in the pre-sales form, it doesn't make it. Incidentally, the system email address itself is hosted by gmail (but on my domain) Where would I look?
sparky
If you use cPanel/WHM some possibilities are In WHM => Tweak Settings Prevent the user "nobody" from sending out mail to remote addresses (PHP and CGI scripts generally run as nobody if you are not using PHPSuexec and Suexec respectively.) In WHM => Exim Configuration Editor Blacklist: Reject mail sent directly to addresses of the primary hostname from remote servers. If you have CSF installed In config SMTP_BLOCK SMTP_ALLOWLOCAL check to see if you are listed in DSHIELD, SPAMHAUS, or BOGON check for a listing at http://www.au.sorbs.net/lookup.shtml There is a lot of places to look those are just a few. Hope that helps.
annomander
Did you get this sorted I am having a similar problem?
jackgordon
Did you get this sorted I am having a similar problem? Yeah, actually. It appears as if there is a fundamental incompatibility between the coding in WHMCS and the server settings at Hostgator that prevent this feature from working. Curiously, the support ticket form works well though, so I just converted my support ticket form into the the sales & support ticket form, and all is good.
