MikeDVB
I've always used the same promo code for several products to save trouble. I just make sure to select which plan and payment term it applies to. Well it's not matching it to the right product but just picking the first instance of the promo code in the database and applying it to the product (whether or not the actual product is correct) So I end up with something like this: http://www.screen-shot.net/ss/63504965433328571388.png Is this fixed in the newest version, we're running 3.7.2
MikeDVB
I've done some testing (even after upgrading to 3.8.1) and if you have a promo code for two products where the code itself is the same it is not correctly comparing the products and it is just applying the first promo code it comes to that matches (whether or not the product is correct for the code) in the promotions list. For example, you set a promo code up for the product "VPS Basic Plan" for 50% off with the code "DiscountMe" and a promo code up for "Shared Basic Plan" for 50% off with the code "DiscountMe". It should find the promotion that matches the product, I would think. If they order a VPS Basic Plan it will use the "DiscountMe" promotion that applies to that particular product just as it should for the "Shared Basic Plan" Well the issue is that if you order the "Shared Basic Plan" it's incorrectly applying the "VPS Basic Plan" code (which thus doesn't work). You can see an incorrectly applied coupon code in my initial post on this thread, if any body can explain to me how you have a recurring discount of $21 on a $14.50 plan but a recurring amount due of $14.50... I submitted a support ticket and hopefully Matt/Somebody will get back to me soon with a resolution and this can be included into the release files. Nah, just checking to ensure the product the code applies to is actually in the cart would resolve the issue. I've already discussed this with Matt and he's added it to the Dev list but there's no certainty it'll be added. Most people likely don't try to use the system the way I have, hence most not understanding the issue I'm experiencing. If you apply the code based upon the product/term/code combination instead of just the code/term combination then you can use the same code to apply different discounts to different products. As an example you could use a "NewYearsSpecial" code to apply different discounts to varying products instead of saying "50% off off of VPSs with NewYearsSpecialVPS and 30% off of shared hosting with NewYearsSpecialShared" etc... You could use one code to apply a different discount to different products, and even create different copies of the promo for the same product to apply different discounts depending on the subscription term. NewYears for shared on monthly gives 90% off NewYears for shared on quarterly gives 45% off etc... No big deal.
