pwner99
Recently I had to upgrade my WHMCS system a few times due to a server change and a few other errors, but my real issue here is that every time I tell WHMCS to use a MySQL database with existing info (users, passwords, packages, etc) the passwords of my users' end up being changed to something like 'tè>'׎â' which is annoying as the way whmcs reminds you of a password is by resending it to you instead of resetting it to some random phrase. Does anyone know of a way to make this not happen again, and possibly to change the way WHMCS reminds users of their passwords?
pwner99
Ok I submitted a ticket in the support section and got this response from Matt: When you move a database, you must also move the encryption hash in the configuration.php file as that is used to encrypt all the encoded values in the database and without it they won't be readable by the new installation. Regards, Matt So that basically did it in case anyone else has this problem and sees this forum post some day
bear
So that basically did it in case anyone else has this problem and sees this forum post some day Thank you! It's far too rare that someone posts a fix they find, or they post "fixed it!" without details. Good going!
