Ok now I've read every post in the forum to work out how to edit the checkout confirmation page so I can add a small affiliate track code to it... I've tried editing the complete.tpl file but this doesnt work. I've changed every option in the config section for redirections and even cleared out all the cache.

What is the secret to actually changin / adding affiliate code to the checkout confirmation page?

Maybe it depends on style of order process you use.

There are more types of templates you should edit.

If you using cart order process, you have to edit /templates/orderforms/cart/complete.tpl

If you using boxes order process, you have to edit /templates/orderforms/boxes/complete.tpl

If you using default order process, you have to edit /templates/orderforms/default/complete.tpl

If you using single page order process, you have to edit /templates/orderforms/singlepage/complete.tpl
