bubbasheeko
Where is the email being sent to? An email address checked by your email client? Or is it an email address that is only checked by WHMCS support center?
scottb
I've noticed this too... the from address is the same as the to address...
Matt Wade
Hmm..tested my contact form and it shows the from address as the one I typed in the form.
bubbasheeko
You have to log into WHMCS to reply to that message. You are receiving notification from WHMCS that you have a message from the contact form (the email in your email client). The content of the message is contained in the notification. You would then log in to WHMCS to send the response from the appropriate support department (the department that receives the message).
scottb
The problem is that if the from address is the same as the to email most likely you are using smtp instead of phpmail. Changing it in general settings on the email tab from smtp to php mail corrects it for me...
NextLevel
Does anyone have a fix in case you need to use smtp? I have the same problem and I really want to avoid using phpmail. Using a remote mail server too.
NextLevel
Basically when smtp is used, the from address is the address configured in General Settings > Mail > SMTP Username. That's no good! Maybe with phpmail its fine, but not an option.
mstorman
I had the same problem because I am using SMTP as well. Look in the email headers for Return-Path: it actually shows the email address that the user used. At least in Exchange it does.
