davet
this was working about a week ago but now new orders that use paypal... WHMCS never records the transaction. I have to manually enter the PayPal payment into whmcs. Any ideas? I am using version 3.7.1
Matt Wade
You have IPN enabled in PayPal and the URL blanked out (even removing the http://) ?
davet
That was it. What is strange is it was working fine before.

davet
I think I spoke too soon. When I said "that was it" I meant that there was a URL under the IPN settings within my paypal account so i removed it. But still paypal payments do not work. Nothing gets posted to WHMCS. Any ideas?
Matt Wade
Are these one time payments or subscriptions?
davet
one-time payments
davet
What is the callback url? I know we're supposed to leave it blank within the Paypal IPN settings but it's gotta post back to something which I feel is not working. My admins did recently install php_suphp which is around the same time this stopped working. I have a feeling it is a permissions problem on the callback url. Any ideas?
davet
I just tested this myself and once I made the paypal payment, I clicked "Return to Interactive Online" and it just took me back to the unpaid invoice. Any help would be appreciated!
annomander
Yes, I'm having something similar (it might be the same) Some pays for hosting using Paypal. My paypal account takes the money, but WHMCS shows as unpaid and so doesn't create any account, I have to manually create account and fiddle with the payment/invoice screen to show that they have paid and then manually put the next invoice date in. Like the above I checked out paypal IPN and took out http://
annomander
I have also noticed that if you take out the http:// out of the IPN preferences but then go back and edit it, the http:// is back in there I wonder if there is a problem at paypals end with it defaulting
annomander
Hi Davet Great news, this solution worked for me. http://forum.whmcs.com/showthread.php?t=12727 As there is a lot of posts that are having the same problem and really a lack of action from WHMCS in responding to it, I think the above thread should be made more relevant either in the knowledgebase or a sticky in the forum.
