Thank you for the Knowledgebase fix...but...I have another problem. After upgrading to v3.8.1, my Knowledgebase categories are still there and when I click a question, it shows empty.

In the status bar of IE7, it still shows the old path and not the new one its supposed to be. How can I correct this please??

Thanks

Just wanted to add that the upgrade from 3.7.2 to 3.8.1 was smooth, there were no issues whatsoever.

Be sure to use decent file comparison tool so you can properly update any of your modified files and custom templates with new code.

Also make sure you delete your cache/log out after making the updates and log back in to see the new features :)

I got the very same problem, see here http://sophiahosting.com/support/knowledgebase.php

Any ideas? They articles do show up fine in the admin section, I even tried to resave them or add another article, but it remains empty. Any ideas?

Hi Sophia. I had this problem earlier and raised a ticket with the following response which advice worked.

Search Engine Friendly urls are where an url which once was "/knowledgebase.php?action=view&id=1" becomes "/knowledgebase/1/How_do_I_access_my_control_panel.html".

You can enable or disable these for the announcements, downloads and knowledgebase sections of the WHMCS client area. To do that, go to Configuration > General Settings > Other tab and tick or untick the box for "KB SEO Friendly URLs"

If enabled one more step is needed . You must rename the htaccess.txt file to .htaccess in the whmcs root directory

Don't forget to empty your cache as well. Hope this works for you.

Thanks for your quick reply, alas, no nice :( I never had friendly URLs enabled, but I did briefly and renamed the htaccess.txt too, deleted the cache, but nothing.

Then I put everything back the way it was, renamed .htaccess back to htaccess.txt, delete the cache once again, but nothing. Guess it's time for a ticket :( Thanks once again!

Ok, I got my answer, and I do feel rather silly... but while I updated the custom template files that I EDITED, I forgot to update the ORIGINAL template files... All I had to do was overwrite them with the standard template files. Duh!

If i enable the SEO Friendly urls, rename to .htaccess, all my images appear as dead links?

Turn it off, rename to htaccess.txt, all works perfectly...

You may have the full path in the url for the images. you will need to make the url to the image a relative path

eg..

<img src="http://domain.com/whmcs/templates/portal/images/image.jpg" />

to

<img src="templates/portal/images/image.jpg" />
