Gears
The following is just one reason why I despise the company. For the past 2 months I have been trying to contact Parallels' ModernDNS support department without success. Why is it so hard to contact them??? Several times I have replied to their automatic emails that state (reply to this email if you have any questions or concerns). I have sent in support tickets to ModernDNS. I have sent in support tickets to Parallels. "Your unique problem Ticket Number has been sent to the e-mail address you entered"... Never received anything, even after 5 tries. Here is my concern I am an eNom reseller through ModernDNS and emails are sent out to my customers. Here is an excerpt: "Dear Domain Holder, This message is a reminder to help you keep the contact data associated with your domain registration up-to-date. As of October 31, 2003 we are required by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) to send you this reminder by the Anniversary date of each registered Domain Name that is subject to the terms and conditions of that organization. Below is a list of domain names with your email address listed as the registrant or administrative contact. The current contact information associated with the domain may be verified by following the link provided. " I really don't want our customers to receive these emails from a third party. Can anyone shed some light on this? I figure the WHMCS Community > Parallels Staff Thank you
chickendippers
These emails are sent by eNom, they are sent from your email address and use your company name, the link is to a generic website. I don't have a problem with them.
Gears
Thank you for replying. In my case they are sent from Parallels, not eNom. Here is the info: Name: Parallels Email: admin@moderndns.com Subject: Important Notice: Please Verify Contact Data for your Domain Name(s) Signature of Email: "Thank you for your attention. Sincerely, WDRP Compliance Parallels"
othellotech
It's an ICANN requirement that the emails are sent, so no you cant stop it. To remove Paralells name from the equation to need to be a "real" enom customer not a sub-account of another one - so get your $7k ready and buy into the ETP program ...
Gears
I know it's a requirement, and I do not mind if they are sent. But I do not want them addressed from Parallels. It would be better if they were sent from eNom instead of Parallels. Even though I am not enrolled in the ETP program, I think I should be able to have this addressed from my business. To remove Paralells name from the equation to need to be a "real" enom customer not a sub-account of another one - so get your $7k ready and buy into the ETP program ...No thank you...

Vger
Look in the News & Announcements forum - where WHMCS is announcing free Enom Reseller accounts without set up fees and minimum deposit. Vger
Summy
to OP: Are these domain names registered in your companies name? I.e. not the customers details? As we are a sub account of moderndns, we have quite a few domains. After reading this thread I went and checked some previous emails, this is how it is for us: Any emails sent to customers (i.e. have customer registrant details) then the email is signed our company and appears to come from our company. However if its one of our domains (i.e. our company is the owner of the domain), then its signed Parallels. --- Is whmcs offering equivilent enom accounts now then? I loath the idea of earning revenue for moderndns/parallels and would be quick to push all my domains to another account, assuming i'd get the same or better rates, after all business is business.

That could indeed be the case because most of the domains have my company's name in for the details (registrant details at least). I wonder how they are differentiating. Compare the email that I have set in eNom versus the email in the registrant details? And I wonder what they use for the signature when the client has his/her info in the registrant details. I haven't submitted any text to be used as signatures.

Gears
Oh okay. So they just take the value of "Organization Name" and put it in the signature.
Gears
Bit of a harsh title I chose now that I look back at it Finally got a response though: eNom tells us: "No - this is how they must go out. Unlike other items which can be branded these can not." I requested to them to take it into consideration for future improvements.
