custom pages-change index and page displayed after client login

As it is now, the index is set to go to homepage.tpl. Can this be changed to another page? If not I guess I can create a new index with the login form and put whmcs in a subdirectory.

After login the client is displayed clientarea.tpl. Can the page displayed after login be changed to something else?

I decided to just use the {if $loggedin} tag to show what I want to show when logged in and use {else} for those that are not. So, what I would like to do know is after login the page goes back to site.com/index.php, does anyone know how to do that?

Make sure that http://site.com/index.php is not the WHMCS index.php or you will have a continous loop and never display anything.
