Offering free hosting for specified period of time

I'm trying to setup WHMCS to allow me to offer web design clients free hosting for higher-end packages. Silver doesn't get any free hosting. Gold gets 6 months free. Platinum gets a year for free. Well, IF I can figure out how to set this up.

Is something like this even possible? It seemed like a good way to add additional value to the packages but I can't figure out how to get this to work in WHMCS.

I can setup up promo codes equal to the amount the hosting would cost (for 6 months of hosting for example). But people could then choose monthly hosting, get a huge discount, and then get billed the following month...and likely calling me asking..."what's the deal"?

Any ideas on this. I'm open to suggestions on how to do this or whether or not the idea is even worth setting up this way.

Thanks,

Kenton

When you set the promo code set the billing cycle..

Hmmm you could use a promo to give a % off but would have to manually remove the discount.

I think what you would need is some kind of function which after X months or whatever it changes the recurring amount back to the full amount, so the promo coupon sets recurring amount as £5/month and it bills it as that and then once it has reached the end of a period of time it automatically changes back to full amount..

The way we have tackled this is by giving one time percentage promotional codes based on the payment option they go for.

So for example, we have created a 1yr free hosting promotion, but this is only available if they sign up to a biennial package.. so let's say the biennial package is £120 (ie £60/yr) then they put in a one time only promotional code with 50% discount and they end up paying £60 for the 2 years.

I am not sure how to achieve something similar for a 12 month period on monthly payment plans, so would be glad to hear any experts out there. :-)
