Si
Hi everyone, I really welcome this (thanks Matt), and I've been reading the manual and some of the other threads re the set up of it. It seems confusing and I think I'm about to throw more spanners in the mix here. I hope someone can help: What happens with existing customers who want to add an SSL to their existing hosting account? Can they order it as an add-on? If so, how do you set it up? If not, how do you set it up? ie, with domain options during the order process etc. Has anyone set up a SSL product with just a year renewable fee that would be willing to share their setup details ? Thanks Si
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted July 29, 2008 WHMCS CEO Share Posted July 29, 2008 You need to set it up as a product and the domain it will be used on isn't needed so don't worry about that. See http://wiki.whmcs.com/Enom_SSL_Certificates for how to setup the product. Matt
Si
Hi Matt, Thanks. I guess the domain thing is puzzling me as I have a SBS Instant set up in test mode and what's happening is that as a customer I'm ordering it, and then manually approving the order. Then, it fails with an automatic failure on the server setup error with an IP address error. (the IP address of my WHMCS install - which is not the IP address of my customer's cert installation). So I guess what I'm not understanding here is where does the CSR happen, the IP and domain information get passed to enom? Si
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted July 29, 2008 WHMCS CEO Share Posted July 29, 2008 On payment from the customer/order activation, the SSL purchase is made at Enom, and a link is then sent to the user which they go to to configure their certificate. That's where the domain, registrant details, validation email etc... are all set. If you're getting an error about an Invalid IP when activating the order that indicates your servers IP isn't registered with Enom for allowed API access to your account. Pretty much no other way to test this then other than to actually pay for a cert myself or watch a customer go through the process. If you're getting an error about an Invalid IP when activating the order that indicates your servers IP isn't registered with Enom for allowed API access to your account. That's what I thought too, but my customers use the api all the time to register/manage/renew their domains through WHMCS. For that reason alone I'm certain the IP of my server is listed with enom. I'll have their tech team add the IP that's coming up as error though added again. Thanks Si

Or you could just enable test mode in the module settings and run it through the test environment for free. Matt

Matt lol - yes that's the way I've had it from the beginning of this, but hopefully whatever the IP issue is with enom, it will sort it out and I'll see that all working correctly. I'm wondering if you need to add your IP address to enom for a SSL API as well as a domain API ? I've requested the 'offending' IP address be added via their support ticket system anyhow and will let you know. Thanks for the support in this thread. I'm sure it's just a matter of time to get it working. Si
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted July 29, 2008 WHMCS CEO Share Posted July 29, 2008 Nope, it's the same API so don't have to get the IP added somewhere else for the SSL - but you do have to add the IP in the live environment and the test environment seperately. You can add IPs to the test environment allowed list from within your account - don't need to request their support to do it like with live. Found that, added the IP and it worked like a charm. At least....the test SSL was setup at enom and the email arrived from my WHMCS with a url in the format: http://mydomain.com/whmcs/configuressl.php?cert=c4ca4238a0bwerwqr2323923820dcc509a6f75849b but when I clicked on it, it opened up my site header, footer and sides, but the content was empty. ? What am I missing? Si

Si
I'm having the exact same problem, have you been able to figure it out? No - afraid not. I've not gone 'live' yet because of it as I'm not sure if it's just a test environment issue or is something that will replicate during a live transaction. It hasn't been a major priority for me just yet, but it will become so quite soon. Keep me posted....and vice versa. Si
SilverNodashi
Ok, I just found it I use a different portal from the original one, so some of the files of 3.6.2 doesn't exist in my portal. This was the problem in my case. hth

We just had our entire site re-designed and a new WHMCS template redesign / integration - should've twigged that would have been the issue. We can now go live with this on the site. Thanks for the heads up. Si
