Bandwidth Monitoring/Notices

I have noticed that cPanel/WHM keeps track of bandwidth usage from month to month starting on the first of the month (and not by the anniversary date of the account) but WHMCS keeps track of bandwidth usage from anniversary date to anniversary date.

Is it possible to set WHMCS to monitor bandwidth just like cPanel does (per calendar month) without setting up prorata billing?

Also is there any way to set up notifications (for the system admins and the client, or just the system admins) for bandwidth overages? It would be a pain to go through all accounts every day to see if any where approaching their limits, or over their limits

You can do this by reading the figures from the tblhosting in a cron job, or by looking at the emails your control panel can send you ...

All it says in the cronjob e-mails is "Disk & Bandwidth Usage Statistics Updated"

I think with WHMCS being the "Complete Solution" since it keeps track of BW usage from anniversary date, it should at the least have the option to configure bandwidth warnings and admin alerts. Really it's not too much more work as most of it is done already (checking and updating bandwidth amounts daily on cron)

WHMCS doesn't do any keeping track of bandwidth usage. All it does is show what the cpanel API says the usage is so both in cpanel and WHMCS will always be identical.

cPanel should be notifying you when you get close to your bandwidth limit.

Hi Matt,

Could it be possible to keep track of bandwidth usage, and bill people for their over usage?

cPanel will automatically "suspend" an account when the bandwidth is used up, which is not good. It's not a good business image, and also not good for the clients. Instead I'd let them use more bandwidth, but then invoice them accordingly.

That would be a fantastic feature to have. The only main issue I see with this is that you'd have to generate an invoice at a different time from their normal hosting unless you wanted to delay the overage fees until their next month's bill.
