Can a Payment Gateway Module Be Duplicated and Renamed?

Hello everyone,

I want to have our various bank Transfer options listed when a client is placing and order. So I tried to duplicate the Bank Transfer module, but the replicated copy failed to work.

How do I go about this?

Thanks

It's not as simple as just duplicating the file. There has to be changes to it's internal code also so it's something only we can do. However, there are 2 identical gateways for manual payments - Bank Transfer & Mail In Payment so you can use the other if you haven't already.

Would you consider adding a 3rd "standard" one, we do have people who want to pay-on-collection at the datacentre for things, so a "Cash On Delivery" gateway would make the transactions analysis by gateway make sense rather than (at present) lumping in with cheques sent to the office ...

Honestly, with the amount of different payment methods throughout different countries, a billing system at the same capacity as WHMCS should have the ability to add your own payment gateways that would just basically replicate the Bank Transfer and Mail In Payment frameworks with the ability to make your own name for it. Just in Canada alone it would be expected that I should have the ability to create separate ones and call them cash, cheque, ETF, wire transfer, Interac e-Transfer.

Three is certainly not enough. How come the devs haven't worked on something like this?
