griffe
Hello, First of all let me thank Matt for being so pro-active with features and updates. Automated SSL Provisioning Support with Enom is a great feature.. I just wish I could figure out how to set it up? Am I stupid or just tired? I cant find any reference to it. How can I set this up?? Thanks!

griffe
Should not have the option to be setup as an 'Addon'? Currently we have SSL certs setup as Addons, this allows us to apply them under domains... By creating the SSL cert as a product we lose this functionality dont we?? Is there anyway to set it up as a addon?
griffe
****BUMP*** Can SSL certs be assigned to under a domain in WHMCS?? Also, is there a way to complete all steps required without bothering the customer with an email?? We handle everything for most of our customers...
goddess_dix
ssl certs have to go to the person ordering them because that is the verification they are who they are supposed to be - the contact info on the domain. by creating ssl as a product, you allow people to buy ssl certs from you who do not have hosting with you.

Yes, but I should also have the option of not bothering the client. For instance this is what I had to do: Change client email address to mine Go through the registration process Get the email Continue the registraiton proces Change his email address back to mine. Would be great if there was a way to enter in all that info via admin side, or.. better yet auto fill in their customer contact info! It would also be good if I could disable the notificaiton email sent to the client. by creating ssl as a product, you allow people to buy ssl certs from you who do not have hosting with you. Yes, I think this is great... But it should be backwards compatible for clients who dont have any clue and pay more money to have their admin perform the operation. This is a new feature to WHMCS and I belive there are a few details which could be improved upon.
apollo1
If you want to offer that sort of end to end service to purchase and set up the SSL cert for your customer, why would that need to be integrated into WHMCS? You can easily fo to eNom or Directi and order the cert, set it up for them, and then just invoice them manually.

The whole reason for WHMCS is automated billing and renewal. It gets hard to manage even 25 certs manually, mistakes happen and certs expire. I was excited when SSL provisioning was added for this very reason.
apollo1
But when you have a customer who owns a cert, doesn't RapidSSL, GeoTrust (or whoever the cert is from) automatically email the client? Anyway, I sort of understand the dilemma you are in. I would imagine this module will improve over time, it's just been released.
penguin
Enom don't support renewals of certificates anyway though - you have to order a new certificate to replace your expiring one. This is pretty standard with most certificate issuers as well. The cert issuer will e-mail you to let you know that the cert is expiring and then you just order a replacement, which the cert issuer will add to the vaslidity period of your existing one as they detect that it is then a renewal. I don't therefore see who WHMCS can improve on this being a one-time orderable product as this is exactly how it works with Ensim directly anyway.

But the client dosent really know what the email means, they then have to get in contact with us to install the cert, etc. Yes I have hope that there will be some improments, thats why I created this thread.

Yes, I know Enom doesnt support renewals (no one does), but when the cert expires WHMCS will automatically place the new other and email us the info to install. This helps a lot.
