auto backup my script but how to do zip

Guys I do a cron job

 

 

 

mysqldump --opt -Q -u my_whmcs --password=mypass my_whmcs > /home/mine/backup/whmcs.sql

 

 

 

but I do not want it to be SQL is there any command change

 

I can do automatic backup but the result is zip

 

 

 

it can save a lot of space

Use a pipe to gzip by adding a line at the end:

mysqldump --opt -Q -u my_whmcs --password=mypass my_whmcs > /home/mine/backup/whmcs.sql | gzip -c > whmcs.sql.gz

 

That should do it. You might need to specify path, but I don't think so.

Trouble? man gzip might help...
