risrik
I was setting up the domain pricing in my WHMCS and was wondering if I should be clicking the box for DNS Management and Email Forwarding. The 'Key' at the bottom just says to "Tick these boxes if the domain registrar supports them for this TLD". I'm using eNom. I know that eNom offers free email forwarding so I thought I'd leave the box unchecked because otherwise it adds a checkbox for the client and a price determined in General Settings -> Domains. So in this case eNom supports it but it's free so there's no additional fee. With DNS Management I'm not sure if I should tick the box for each domain because I'm not sure what aspect of management this is and if there is an additional fee that I should be adding in the general settings. So for those using eNom, should I be ticking or unticking the Email Forwarding and DNS Management boxes? Thanks!
penguin
Enom supports free DNS management or forwarding for any domains registered with them - they only charge for providing the service to external domains
othellotech
So for those using eNom, should I be ticking or unticking the Email Forwarding and DNS Management boxes? Do you want to use and/or offer their email/dns services ? Yes - tick the box No - dont tick the box Simple
risrik
Do you want to use and/or offer their email/dns services ?Yes - tick the box No - dont tick the box Simple LOL. I guess my question then is "why wouldn't I want to offer those features?" If they're both free why not just tick the boxes? Are they more work to offer? I'm not sure I understand why you wouldn't just tick the boxes and offer the domain purchaser more. Maybe I'm missing something!
othellotech
Why wouldnt you ? Perhaps you want to offer a reliable DNS service not a freebie it might work one ? Perhaps you want to brand all your services and not advertise your registrar ? Perhaps you sell hosting and dont want to offer free forwarding ? Only you can make the decision about what services you want your business to promote, if/how/when you charge for them, and which supplier you get them from to provide it
