Ticket Importing : Plesk 8.4?

Trying to understand why I get


Authentication Failed


from : php -q /home/..../public_html/pipe/pop.php command


I can log in correctly with the username and password as entered exactly into the WHMCS installation. using Outlook and webmail.


I have removed it and re added, I can even telnet from the server where WHMCS is located to the mail server in question.


The mail server is on Plesk 8.4, any help would be very much appreciated..


Mail server and WHMCS are on different servers.
