vivaciti
Hi, Hope you can help. We have a reseller account on a cpanel/whm platform and the host has had some problems and has had their data feed cut off. We can't get hold of them, and they will not answer the phone or emails. The data supplier has been as helpfull as posible and has allowed us access to the server (whm/cpanel IP although the IP for the prim and sec dns are different) we have managed to back up all our customers data from the cpanel backup, but I can not find out how I can backup the DNS data to move it to another supplier. We have backed up our WHMCS as part of our reseller account backup through cpanel, would there be another way to restore the DNS from within WHMCS once we get the primary account set up with another host? Any help would be great here as we are in a bit of bother over this with our customers. Cheers Karl
simplybe
Hi, Not sure I understand but If you are restoring all the accounts on a new server, then you have 2 options 1: If you are already using your own name servers, then it's just a case of updating the name server ip's at your registrar to the new server ip's. 2: If you were using your hosts name servers , then you will need to modify/update the name servers for all the domains at their registrar.

The zones for each account will be created as you restore each account, you don't want the zone files there before hand as it will break the restore.
