WHMCS Integration - Streaming Services

codemaster2008

Question

Hi,

I was wondering how can i use WHMCS to sell streaming services.

When selling streaming here we don't have packages, we use two variables:

Number of connections and bitrate.

Lets say, at 24Kbps the price per connection is $1

The user can pick any number of connections he wants.

The connections could be from 1 to 1000's.

The Bitrate from 16Kbps to 700Kbps.

Looks like the option "Configuration/Product Add-On" won't work well for that, also i tried "Products and Services/Configurable options" and it didn't appear to solve my problem as well.

So, how are you people doing this? Do i need the "Configurable Hosting Package Addon" for that?

Thanks in advance.

We've setup a package for each conceivable option. It takes a while to do but we found it was the only way it could be done.

It would be great if there were an easy way, might be a good idea for a feature request.

I remember directing this question directly to Matt. The add on is basically to auto provision the configurable options.

I believe this only work with cPanel right now.

I found the best way is to add plans for each of the bitrates (in my case i only have 4) then use a configurable option for the listeners / slots (i only have 10,20,30,40,50 & 100)

So in my case it wasnt too much hassle.

The only other way i can think of doing it if you have a lot of combinations is to have the options for bitrate and slots as 2 seperate custom fields and note in the description that they will be invoiced after the order has been received & reviewed.

Means a little more work per order received but saves having 1001 different plans on show.

Hi;

Based on your sugestion i did this:

I added a product with montlhy price = "0"

And then, added configurable options like: "20 listeners = $20", "40 listeners = $40" and so on.

The problem is that on the shopping cart, the Billing Cycle option shows an empty dropdown list. Is that a way to remove it?

Thanks

This is a similar problem I have with Teamspeak. There's no way to simply enable Billing Cycles without having an amount greater than 0 in the billing cycle box. It's quite awkward when you charge only by your configurable option.
