Gears
Which do you guys prefer to use and why? The Order method or the Cart method? cart.php vs order.php
chickendippers
Cart. Customers can order more than one product at a time.
Zorro67
Customer can order more than one item at a time. Much more like a common cart than single orders. Would you go to a checkout at a shop with each oindividual item? Seriously, we want to encourage our customers to buy add-ons (Would you like fries with that?)
Gears
Thank you very much Makes sense to me, just changed some things on the site.
Iceman
I think it depends on how you structure your Hosting Plans. Do you include lots of addon services? Or do you only allow a specific hosting plan to be selected? Cheers, Paul
othellotech
Order - most of our clients know what they want and just get on with it One of the reasons we moved away from Zaygo which had done us well for years on one site to WHMCS is that the order-process was simpler (less steps) from the user point of view.
mylove4life
I like the order myself, less steps and you can break it down better for the client to select from the ad on's you have listed...
uberhost
Cart. Consumers are already familiar with the cart model, so why use a proprietary order system? I was happy when Matt introduced the cart, and sales have been up since switching.
zigzam
The cart is too complex for most users. The order system is much better for general web hosting sales. When people order they want to do the least amount of steps.
chaloupe
Order and on single page. Keeps user happy and they always say that the order process was easy so we stick to it. We have added in the Custom Client Profile Fields an "Order process was?" with answers "Choose an option,Easy,Hard,Perfect,Could be better,Too long" and easy is always coming back. Please note that we had a mywhmcs.com custom template that we have also push a bit further with more template tweak as the upgrade was flowing in.

But it seems that with the singlepage orderform, the customer cannot go back a step.
chaloupe
After they choose the "Payment method", they will have 3 buttons under "Your Order": - Change product - Change domain - Change configurable options It is maybe not a back button but at least it works very well.
Francisco
Single page order but cart for domains, etc. It just works. Depends on the industry you catter to.
nabil
Both have their uses. Cart is great for someone who is deciding to buy and might buy more than one thing or is already a customer and order is good for promotions targeted at one product (Focused message with no distractions). This will be especially true for those of us who use whmcs for things other than web hosting.
