I am about to purchase WHMCS but need a good registrar. When I have registered my domains in the past I have always used OpenSRS but not as a reseller myself, but through another company who sold domain names and hosting.
You can get a direct account with OpenSRS for $95 setup fee and $9.40 a domain name, but this is directly through OpenSRS.
Going directly through eNom is ridiculous and you need a LOT of money to start directly with them, but there are some companys like hosting companys or software companys that are resellers for eNom and have amazing deals like
$7.95 a domain name, and no setup cost, but you dont go directly through eNom and if you need support, you use the hosting companies support instead of going directly through eNom. Not to mention you have to purchase something anything from this company so you will be considered a "customer" because only exsisting customers are given free eNom accounts, but they said if you discontinue service with the hosting company, you still keep the eNom reseller account.
Its either going directly for a higher price, or indirectly at a much lower cost. but I dont really register that many domains, neither do my customers so That extra $2 would really make that much of a difference. I register like 15 domains a year.
What should I do? And I have ruled out every other registrar and can only choose between eNom and OpenSRS
Does eNom ever send emails directly to the registered email on a domain name? What about opensrs? Do these companies ever email directly to the newly registered, transfered, or expiring domain holder?
I know it was quite a bit of writing, but any comments would be appreciated. Thank you
