Couple of Questions

Question

I've been trying WHM for a week now and things are working very well. I have run into a couple of things that I had questions about.

Account provisioning in Plesk 8.3 for Linux works well however after the account is provisioned we need to go to the domain and check the box to allow the www subdomain to work (i.e. mydomain.com works, but http://www.mydomain.com does not). Is there any place to make that automatic?

Also, we are using eProcessingNetwork. I have only run a couple of transactions and the one that concerns me is the one where WHM says the transaction was declined (error: Response Reason Text => Operation timed out with 0 out of -1 bytes received) but the card is actually charged. Any ideas?

To get it automatically adding the DNS entry for the www subdomain to work, login to Plesk and then click on Server. Next, select DNS Settings and then Add New Record. Select CNAME for the record type, enter "www" in "domain name box and enter "<domain>" in the canonical name field. Then finish by clicking OK. And that should be it. All future accounts will get the subdomain www setup automatically.

Regarding the eProcessingNetwork error, that's a timeout error with the communication to their server. By default 120 seconds is allowed so it shouldn't be giving a problem but if it is will need to open a ticket to request a longer timeout.

Thank you for your responses,

OK that seems to be a work-around rather than a fix since all you are doing is using DNS to forward http://www.mydomain.com to mydomain.com rather than actually alias the domain by checking that box. In our case DNS isn't controlled by Plesk since we have a diverse group of servers. While we could create such a template for Plesk servers it would just be easier I think to just log in and check that box.

What I find odd is that when you create a domain from within Plesk itself this box is checked by default.
