Exactly how automated is WHMCS?

• Does WHMCS automaticly create the accounts clients pay for on the WHM server or do i need to create them myself?
  
• Does WHMCS automaticly create the packages on the WHM server?
  
• More importantly, can I basicly control the WHM server via WHMCS or is it mearly an addition?

1) It creates the account according to how you set the product up in WHMCS. So, yes it will create the account upon payment

 

2) You will have to create the packages on your server, and then in WHMCS. You just name them in WHMCS the exact same as you did in WHM

 

3) You can not 'control' WHM from withing WHMCS. It is merely a program that is 'installed' on the server. It is the same as a program you install on your PC (in a sense).

Alrighty, thank you for your help. As-long as it at-least creates the account upon payment I'll have no problem configuring the rest.

Yes..once the order is placed you approve the order, and then click 'Create' and the rest is history

Or just have it set to autocreate on payment, like we have.

And just to add to what others have said, without logging into WHM at all, you can create, suspend, unsuspend, terminate, change a users password and change a users package all from WHMCS.

I propose we ban the use of the words 'merely' and 'WHMCS' in the same sentence.

WHMCS basically adds a billing and management layer on top of the basic functionality provided by WHM/Cpanel. It simplifies a lot of management tasks that are a real chore in WHM and I've found even my junior, new staff pick it up really quickly.
