zippohosting
Wow - now it makes sense - a "Pending Order" is not really a "Pending Order" - I always thought I have to run in an "accept" these orders so the client can have their products. Now, it is my understanding, that after reading all this they are truly "NEW ORDERS"??? Not sure why we have to "accept" them though - to complete the process... This should all be automated so new orders (pending) does not have to be accepted - especially if they are already paid for. Just some thoughts...
Impact-John
well from my understanding the accept order is merely a verification tool for the admins to see the orders coming in and make sure there is nothing wrong or fraudulent with the orders
Smiles101
Wow - now it makes sense - a "Pending Order" is not really a "Pending Order" - I always thought I have to run in an "accept" these orders so the client can have their products. Now, it is my understanding, that after reading all this they are truly "NEW ORDERS"??? Not sure why we have to "accept" them though - to complete the process... This should all be automated so new orders (pending) does not have to be accepted - especially if they are already paid for. Just some thoughts... Yes. This is how it works. The "Pending" status we see is just to let us know about the new order and to give us a way to verify that it's a real order from someone who actually signed up/payed to access our product(s). Even if we never verify this order and don't "Accept" it, the clients will still have access to their products as long as you have it setup to automate the process. Although, I do agree that this should also be automated, I can understand why it's been kept the way it is. This allows us to check our records and verify the order. If we find it's not up to par, we can deny it and disable their access. But none of this explains why isn't the most important email for hosting accounts being sent automatically. I have to Manually send it before my clients get their FTP access info and DNS info. They can log into cPanel straight away. But I'd imagine the vast majority of clients want their FTP login details just as much, if not more than their cPanel login info. And if we are signing up newbie clients it's just all the more confusing to them if they aren't getting all the correct access information. So any help getting this email automatically sent, would be greatly appreciated.
eugenevdm
This debate will go on and on. The point is that having to manually accept pending orders can be a resource intensive task and should be automated. The question is at what point do you actually automatically vet the order? My idea is to create a "Client Vetted" flag whereby certain client's orders are automatically accepted. This could be a group property for easy assignment.
Real Webspace
Will WHMCS auto-suspend an account and send out the suspension notification? what about auto-termination will system send an email to say account has been terminated? As I am aware, there is an email for account suspended, but not one for Account terminated. Yes, both the suspended and terminate options can be automated.
