borzoid
I've run a couple of test signups and all has gone well. The customer gets "a lot" of emails on a sign up and I wanted to turn some of them off. I don't recall ever getting this many emails before when signing up with a new host. I was wonder what emails do you toggle to send automatically, and which one's do you send manually. I'm new at this and don't want to annoy my customers with a bunch of mail they don't want or need. Thanks.
chickendippers
Order Acknowledgment (I think in some countries that's a legal requirement), Payment Received and Welcome Email. Customers obviously get receipt emails from the payment gateway, but not a lot can be done about that.

RPS
We're running all of the default e-mails. I agree, it is quite a few extra e-mails, but it doesn't really bother me. It just means that the client has more stuff to look at, and makes us look more organized.

Gears
I was thinking about turning off the Order confirmation/acknowledgment email. I think the invoice suffices.
MikeDVB
I was thinking about this as well, but I wasn't going to mess with it unless I get complaints. Although it is a lot of information, I can see uses for all of the information that is sent even if some of it is redundant. You could possibly modify the default templates to make sure that you don't lose any information and transmit less overall e-mails. This is something I will consider myself.
