Using WHMCS along with WordPress

I am a new user of WHMCS and I am trying to sort out how I want to use it with my WordPress site.  When I first installed it, I thought it going into my root folder would be a mess.

I just want to use WHMCS to sign up a few clients for hosting. They do not need to login to my WordPress site. Is the best option to just send them to mywebsite.com/WHMCS/?  Then I can match the colors and themes as close to my WordPress site.

You can do that, but that means your WHMCS installation is going to be in the same filesystem as the WordPress installation and if WordPress is hacked (unfortunately common) your WHMCS installation would be at risk.

If you're going to use WordPress and WHMCS, the better option would be to install WordPress in one account on the main domain (mydomain.com) and then install WHMCS on a separate account as a subdomain (subdomain.mydomain.com).

I didn't realize how the system worked and I installed it in the root folder before WordPress. Since I really don't need it integrated in my website, I was able to move it to /public_html/whmcs/
