Some more interrogations before switching

dsaunier

Question

Here my questions left for now, as switching is a serious move and I need to make sure all bases are covered :

1/ Is the whole site, or at least the client side, perfectly translated in another language if we set the whole site n Spanish only for our clients ?

2/ Can I change the invoice numbering system ? To follow-up with the one on our current site, we need invoices numbered for example MYCOMP-0801-007 for the 7th invoice of January 2008. I did set a format like "WHMCS2007-{NUMBER}"

3/ We use what I'd call "passive" payment methods so to speak, ie the client provides us their bank account infos with an agreement, and we debit the due payment at expiration. What our other site currently does, and that we need here too, is that instead of expiration reminders

and suspension notices, those clients that have a payment methiod that depend on us simply receive a reminder that goes like "your service is expiring soon but is set to autorenew, it will be debited on () unless you tell us otherwise", with a notice to the site admin to take the payment.

Can WHMCS handle this ?

4/ On registering or renewing domains at Enom, does the script really only confirms the domain to clients after it is SUCCESSFULLY actioned at Enom ? There are obviously very serious legal implications for us ! What would happen if the Enom account was down, or not provisioned enough ?

Thanks for your time.

Well if there was a problem registering, you'd get an email from eNom, so you'd know and be able to pass the message onto customers.

But would that message about a registration error come on-screen or as an email to the site admin later, and most importantly would it prevent the official confirmation message from being sent to the client ? Most clients rely on that confirmation to start using the domain, printing it, etc, so legal implications are serious in our business.

So I am currently left with :

1/ Is the whole site, or at least the client side, perfectly translated in another language if we set the whole site in Spanish only for our clients ? For the sections left in English will they soon become translated ?

2/ Can I change the invoice numbering system ? To follow-up with the one on our current site, we need invoices numbered for example MYCOMP-0801-007 for the 7th invoice of January 2008. I did set a format like "WHMCS2007-{NUMBER}"

Can WHMCS handle this ?

Thanks !

OK thanks for the language confirmation. About incrementation I think it can be done directly in the config now, but changing the number still does not make it work with the numbering pattern our accounting company has decided, and we use it on our current site.

You will be very satisfied with the software and how quick support requests are. We just moved over from ModernBill, the difference is night and day.

Every piece of software has its' own way of handling things, so you may find out that there are certain things that work not as you had hoped. Here are two examples: (1) when you create a reseller account, you can't limit the number of accounts that reseller can create if you put a limit on the reseller's space/bandwidth - you can either limit accounts, or limit space/bw, but not both) (2) if you use the free sub domain option for the account, there is no way to turn off the free domain if paid annually feature when the sub domain is selected. So the client ends up with a free regular domain, and a free sub domain. For some people this works, for others it doesn't.

I haven't found ANYTHING in this program that would stop us from using it. Yes, there are things to change, but it works awesome even with the issues i've ran into.

#1) It isn't always 100% translated, here's a recent post: http://forum.whmcs.com/showthread.php?t=7866&highlight=language+translation

It seems like the majority of the time, there shouldn't be any issues, and Matt is pretty good at adding everything into the language file.
