Install WHMCS as standalone or with cPanel or Plesk

Recommended Posts

Can you install WHMCS as a standalone product with no cPanel or Plesk on that server?  If so do you lose features/functionality that you would get with cPanel/Plesk on the same server?

I've read that you can install WHMCS with cPanel on the same server but not WHMCS with Plesk on the same server?

Thanks!

  1. Create a new database at Domains > whmcs.example.com > Databases.
  2. Download whmcs.zip file from vendor's site and unpack it to the httpdocs directory of example.com via Domains > whmcs.example.com > /httpdocs.
  3. Rename the file configuration .php.new to configuration .php and set write permissions to this file.
  4. Set PHP version to 5.6 at Domains > whmcs.example.com > PHP Settings.
  5. Open the link and go through the installation steps.
  6. Remove the directory
  7. Access the admin panel.

@FutureX Did you find an answer to installing WHMCS standalone?  I also have a single Plesk server and then read you cannot provision to the Plesk server that WHMCS is installed on.   You can install it on Plesk, but cannot provision to the same server, where cPanel does not appear to have this limitation.
