bear
You should be able to simply replace the files with the new ones (as long as they are the same version of WHMCS), keeping the same configuration file from the existing install. I would highly suggest making a backup of the database and configuration file before proceeding, though. Can't be too careful.
arihantjain
I will now install the latest version. 3.5.1 ( Are you sure it will work? How can I make a backup?
brianoz
I'd do a database backup from inside WHMCS, as well as doing a cpanel full backup - download it and keep it off the server, somewhere safe.
PPH
Yes a full backup of both are needed with any change and/or upgrade so you can easily revert back. Not sure what you mean by messed up your install, but a simple same version file copy should take care of any missing files. And if they modified template files you can revert back to one of the default templates then and customize accordingly. Then consider upgrading after the repair?
