mrnico
Hello, I am trying to configure my whmcs and I have a problem to configure 2 types of currencies (CLP and USD) I have configured everything using the setup wizard, but it continues by default USD How do I change it to be all CLP? I have already reviewed this https://help.whmcs.com/m/payments/l/679759-selling-in-multiple-currencieshttps://help.whmcs.com/m/payments/l/1122770-changing-the-default-currency

mrnico
thanks brian, but how complicated something should be so simple, according to the documentation when executing the wizard just by selecting the country, the correct currency is automatically selected, but that is not the case. I have a newly installed whmcs, the change should be simpler. As I see it must be hell to have 2 types of currencies configured
Franciseke
I'm in a situation where I had a previous whmcs installation, with USD as the main currency, and i have already generated invoices although none of the invoices are in USD. they are all in CFA. So now I want to make CFA default currency, because i have no product listings in usd. But I am unable to. What do I do in this situation?

What do I do in this situation? in the short-term, nothing. 🙂 better to do that than the wrong thing - even if you're existing invoices are priced in CFA, their exchange rates relative to USD will be stored on the paid invoices and used to calculate your annual income etc - it's one of the reasons not to change default currencies as it will mess up these calculations. when you say you have a previous install, would it be an option to just start a new install from scratch, just define one currency? users would lose access to previous invoices etc, but it might be the simplest solution (depending on the number of clients/users involved)...

Thank you so much brian. The main reason i wanted to change the default currency, was so that the users do not see the USD price as the first price when they come on the site. Given that most of my clients are not US based. I didn't want to have to lose previous invoices etc, so I tried to find a solution around it. My solution was to maintain both pricing in USD and CFA, and then add a geolocation hook, whereby, customers outside of the US are shown the prices in CFA directly. This worked for me.
