Moster
Hello, When you have let say, 5 orders (Active) Mark all of them and hit Cancel, The orders then in cancel status, but it's actually Active. To solve this, you need to access each product individually and change the status from Active to Canceled The expected behavior is to Cancel the products immediately from orders page. brian!
https://docs.whmcs.com/Order_Management Quote Bulk Management At the bottom of the Orders page are a number of bulk management options that you can use to change the status of multiple orders at once. These tools only change the status of the order; they do not run any module commands to provision or terminate accounts. You can only do this via the Order Details page.
Moster
brian! Believe it or not, I was doing it often for testing purposes (WHMCS V7.10-) when I do that I see the products on cancel status from customer view. but now the cancellation is not effective for multi selection. What is the point of marking them canceled while it's actually active inside? this behavior is new to me. I'm reading the change log carefully now.
Moster
No one is complaining about this doesn't mean it's not a bug. Client order details page too The only way is to change the drop down MANUALLY ^ above from Active to Canceled

Just now, Moster said: No one is complaining about this doesn't mean it's not a bug. doesn't mean it is either. WHMCS would generally only see it as a bug if either a function was doing something that it shouldn't be doing, or not doing something that it should - but as the docs state, the bulk cancellation is doing what WHMCS intends it to do, e.g just updating the status... and that is what is logged by WHMCS. 28 minutes ago, Moster said: The product still active. and the cancel order button is disabled. my quick tests have been inconclusive on this - i've seeing both the orders and details page marking previously active services as cancelled. now is there an argument that WHMCS should tell users on the page that that's all the bulk cancellation will do - yes... but then you get into the realms of it being closer to a feature request than a bug report.... which reminds me of... doesn't help that the issue was about deleting orders, and WHMCS' response was about cancelling them. 🙄 there's only been one minor maintenance release since that was considered a bug - so it won't be fixed until v8 at the earliest. to be honest, if you think it's a bug, then Bug Report it - there's absolutely no guarantees, or probably likelihood, that anyone from WHMCS is going to see or reply to this, so bug reporting is your best bet - specially if yo want to see it "fixed" in v8.
Moster
I'm not expecting from WHMCS to invent a feature for me, I want the old cancellation behavior to return back since this result is not helpful if you have multi orders that needs to be canceled at once. If WHMCS changed this to protect its customers from accidental deletion , then a mention on the change log would save a lot of time and confusion. Anyway it's not a big issue but I got used to it (canceling 4-9 products at once and check on the client area the cancellation status from the customer view) For the sake of making sure, I will disable all add-ons and eliminate any 3rd party code or customization - hooks from the installation and see whats changed.
