netnow
Good Morning, We have recently completed configuring our payment portal and domain registration module, setting up packages, and importing clients from WHM (into WHMCS). We are now ready to start real time live billing though WHMCS and are wondering if there is a concise complete tutorial or thread that walks through complete configuration for one time and recurring billing setup in WHMCS. We have followed as much info as the docs provide, but would like to lean on others a but to be sure to do it correct/completely. Thanks for your time!
WHMCS ChrisD
Hey @netnow Thanks for your post! So I can point you in the right direction, do you already have your clients and their products/services setup in WHMCS or are you also needing to add them in as well? From what you've said it sounds like you have them added already, have you already gone ahead and updated the price the clients pay and the next due date for each product of the client?

Heya Chris, No we have done the import from WHM and straightened away any package issue. We have NOT aded any due dates, pricing, outstanding balances etc. What my recent thought was to Go to the portal, register a domain and order hosting, then go into WHMCS and accept the order, then review the WHMCS CLient area fields and see what was filled in. ANY help you can provide would be appreciated. -T
WHMCS ChrisD
Hey @netnow Ok, so the first thing to do will be to import the accounts in, don't manually place an order as it will try to create it on the server, once you have imported all the accounts in, pop to each account add in all the clients details and then go to each product, update the pricing, due dates ect and save, repeat this for all products from here you can add any domains in that are registered with your registrar check out https://docs.whmcs.com/Migration_Guide#Adding_Domains for these steps. Once you are done setup your cron https://docs.whmcs.com/Crons#System_Cron to run every 5 to 15 months this will then run the invoicing on a daily basis based on the time you have specified under Setup > Automation Settings. Your invoices will then be generated X days before the next due date, where X is the number of days you have specified in the field Invoice Generation under Setup > Automation Settings > Billing Settings Hope that makes sense but let me know if you have any other questions!
netnow
Hi again Chris, First off, thanks for taking the time to reply, you advice makes perfect sense. On an semi-related issue, I have the OpenSRS domain module setup,(User name and API key are in and double checked). and the pricing in place. but when (live) but when we try do do a live registration we get an error saying that firewall ports (55000 and 55443) need to be opened. But there are for sure open. Also the server IP is in place at OpenSRS. If it means anything, I have everything in debug and here is the "Utilities -> Log -> Module Log" entry that gets created.

netnow
Good Morning, It appears we have fixed the connection issue ("Read error"). There was an Allow/Deny statement in the root directory of user housing WHMCS. It 'appears' to be working as the domain reg went through to OpenSRS and the domain is now registered. - back to setting things up - -N
