Product Setup Fails (API and Admin Page)

We've recently been seeing issues with new customers.  When we create the new product (either in the admin page or with api,) the product is created in WHMCS and no error appears to be returned (result is 'success') but the control panel server does NOT have the acccount, and it has to be added manually. 

I figure there has to be a log of the failure on the control panel server, but I can't find it.  Any suggestions?  The control panel servers are running v78.0.21,  our site is running 7.0.2

That log *was* enabled, I just wasn't seeing it.   The errors in the log suggesteda problem connecting to the server, and testing the server connection (edit servers, server details)  returns 'FAILED: Array'.  Googling this suggests it can be resolved through a upgrade of the the WHMCS  system see: https://bobcares.com/blog/failed-array-whmcs/ ), and we will pursue this shortly.
