Frustrating Conflict: IPv4 versus IPv6 Protocols?

Recommended Posts

Hello, WHMCS experts.

Desperately need your advice on an issue...

We're running iDevAffiliate software on one domain. When an affiliate link is clicked, the user's IP address is tracked using the IPv6 protocol (along with a cookie).

When the user is redirected to another domain on the same server to checkout through WHMCS (and is redirected to it again, after checkout), the second domain uses IPv4 protocol.

Problem is, according to iDevAffiliate support, since the 1st domain uses IPv6 protocol and the 2nd uses IPv4, the IP addresses do not match, and thus prevent the affiliate software from tracking commissions.

So my questions are:

* Does WHMCS support IPv6 protocol? If so, how to enable or configure
WHMCS for IPv6?

* Is there some other way of addressing this issue of conflicting IPv4 vs. IPv6 protocols between the two domains, to solve this tracking problem?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions, help, advice, etc.
