Show local currency in PDF paid invoice

Hello!
I want to show only in .pdf paid invoices the automatically generated text like a "note" with subtotal, vat, and total sum in local currency.
But I can't find information how I can get current currency rate for $subtotal $tax and $total

 

For example: 

If invoice in EUR (main) or USD => show text note with local currency:

Text note: Subtotal X RON; VAT X RON; Total X RON ($subtotal, $tax, $total - but in RON at the moment of paid invoice generation)

you would need to query the database to get the exchange rate... perhaps the thread below will be of some use to you, though if this is purely for the invoice pdf template, then you won't need to use hooks as you'll be querying the database directly in your invoicepdf.tpl file.
