you can't have the LKR currency exchange rate auto-update - only those currencies supported by the ECB can be automatically updated.

WHMCS has the built in capability to retrieve and update the base conversion rate values daily for the following currencies:

AUD, BGN, BRL, CAD, CHF, CNY, CZK, DKK, EEK, EUR, GBP, HKD, HRK, HUF, IDR, INR, JPY, KRW, LTL, LVL, MXN, MYR, NOK, NZD, PHP, PLN, RON, RUB, SEK, SGD, THB, TRY, USD & ZAR

besides, if LKR is your default currency, it's exchange rate would always equal 1.00000

if you need to update other currencies based on the LKR rate, then you will need to find an alternative solution - although i'm not aware of one being available.

Whilst it is not possible for WHMCS to obtain the rates for LKR, using the hook https://developers.whmcs.com/hooks-reference/everything-else/#fetchcurrencyexchangerates, it is possible for you to obtain the exchange rate yourself and apply it to your WHMCS.

as I said previously, WHMCS cannot update currencies based on the LKR currency (as the screenshot above shows) - all that feature request says it that you can use an action hook to update the exchange rate when you obtain the exchange rate - but you will need to find an external source for that exchange rate, you can't use the ECB list.

Executes when updating currency exchange rates. All supported automatic update currencies are returned (LKR Is not supported)... The rate should be appropriate to the EUR currency.

in other words, you will need to find an existing solution that can do this (i'm not aware of one) or pay a developer to write a solution for you - the hook on it's own will not be enough, you will also need to find an third-party source for your LKR exchange rates.
