Access Denied: You do not have the required permission to perform the selected operation!

I'm trying to generate and send a new invoice after changing some details on a service for a particular client.

I'm getting the following error:

Access Denied

You do not have the required permission to perform the selected operation!

Requested Action
Generate Due Invoices

 

This is while trying to perform the "invoice selected items" action from the clients summary page.

I have full admin privileges.

in the admin area,  if you go to setup -> staff management -> administrator roles -> *choose your administrator role* - is the "Generate Due Invoices" checkbox ticked ?
