djSpoo
In-response to this article about Free Trials: https://docs.whmcs.com/Common_Promotions Built-into WHMCS is the ability to "Auto Terminate/Fixed Term" a product. My question pertains to the Workflow of this in-relation to a Product. If the "Auto Terminate/Fixed Term" is enabled for a 30 Day Free Trial, how does the customer Continue their service and start paying? Based on the contextual application, the "Auto Terminate/Fixed Term" will cancel the service, but it doesn't elaborate on if the customer may Continue-on with the initial service or are required to set up a New Paid Service on a Duplicate Product that requires payment. Has anyone tried this? How does it work? If the result is the Latter (cancel and start-over), this would make the "Auto Terminate/Fixed Term" Free Trial a terrible function as the customer would need to re-create a service and the administrator would need to Delete the Trial hosting setup; that's more work for everyone. IDEAL FLOW: Service Product > Trial Enabled (no payment required) > Trial Term Expires > Email Sent to Customer > Customer Chooses to Continue & Enters Payment Information > Payment Received & Service Product Continues-on PERCEIVED FLOW (based on context): Service Product 1 (Free Trial) / Service Product 2 (Paid version) > Trial Enabled > Trial Expires > Service Product 1 Cancelled (data is lost) > Customer Required to Re-Signup for Product 2 > Payment Received > Customer has to Start Over
brian!
REALITY FLOW: Service Product > Trial Enabled (no payment required) > Trial Term Expires > Email Sent to Customer > Customer Chooses to Continue, Upgrades To Full Product & Enters Payment Information > Payment Received & Service Product Continues-on so basically you have two identical products, your trial product and a duplicate that is recurring (e.g monthly/annual etc)... get them to upgrade before termination and the service should continue.
