linux4me
I got the notice to do the 7.5.2 to 7.6.0 upgrade today. When I logged into WHMCS to do the update, I get a message that says: Quote Update Message Validation Issue This update contains notification messages that WHMCS could not validate. Please contact support to know more. My WHMCS license is through my web host, and they are typically clueless when it comes to supporting it. What's the story with the "update message validation issue?" I mainly need to know if it's safe to upgrade and what, if anything, I need to do to resolve the message validation issue. Thanks!
brian!
http://help.whmcs.com/m/updating/l/943515-troubleshooting-an-update-message-validation-issue-error Quote The auto update tool has the ability to display important messages before initiating the update process. These are protected by a digital cryptographic signature in order to verify their authenticity. This message indicates the cryptographic validation is failing. There are 4 potential causes of this: CA Bundles are out of date so the certificate cannot be validated OpenSSL is out of date A PHP configuration is causing the cryptographic validation to fail A Man In the Middle Attack is being performed against your server
linux4me
Thanks @brian! All I had to do was click the button to Check Updates, and the scary message went away. The upgrade went smoothly after that.
