Data Retention Setting Deleting Newly created Accounts with Pending Orders

Has anyone else encountered this? The data retention setting is enabled to automatically delete inactive clients after 84 months but it's now  deleting newly created Accounts with Pending Orders.  On the first day it worked successfull y and deleted 4,160 inactive clients for years 2007-2011. However, since then it has been deleting only newly created accounts that have pending orders but with no active product or service.

Yes, this is a drawback of that function.

It checks to see when the last invoice was paid on an account before deleting it and in your case if there was no invoice paid within the last 84 months it will delete the account.

Unfortunately it hasn't been designed to be "smart enough" to see how old the account is, so if there is a pending order with an invoice waiting to be paid it will delete the account as it hasn't seen a "paid invoice" within the last 84 months.

It also does this for orders flagged and held as Fraud. This is also a bit of a pain as I like to keep these for cross reference for a while and see if there is any pattern in them.
