wphostspro
I have searched high and low on the google universe with no good answer. RE: In General Settings > Domain (the URL to your website homepage) vs. WHMCS System URL. I saw on a WHMCS video (from 2013) that Domain MUST be your whmcs domain - this is where the confusion started. I have my home page on https://example.com and the whmcs system url on https://subdomain.example.com. I have my website almost set up and I don't know if it's o.k. to put my https://example.com in 'Domain' setting along with different whmcs system url, i.e. https://subdomain.example.com and that'll somehow all work together. Also, if anyone knows of any good videos to follow for bridge plugin set up (which explains what each option really means) love to hear about it. Thank you so much for any help. RadWebHosting
I would disagree with DewlanceHosting, only because those fields are not really utilized in this manner. The Domain setting is only utilized in Email merge fields and does not have any bearing on the Home menu. So, in this regard, I would recommend, if you do have different homepage url, to use it, because there is no use having redundancy in the Merge fields. Having both options will be better for your email customization, later. As for bridge plugin, I cannot help. Perhaps you should open a new thread in the appropriate location to get experienced user feedback.
WHMCS Technical Analyst II WHMCS Alex Posted December 21, 2017 WHMCS Technical Analyst II Share Posted December 21, 2017 Hello, Thank you for your post! You may use http://example.com in the domain field and http://subdomain.example.com in the WHMCS System URL field and this won't have an impact on how the WHMCS software works. Only certain aspects of WHMCS utilise the field, for example, by default, the affiliate link redirects you to the URL Specified in the 'Setup > General Settings > Domain' field - if you had your main website and product advertising on http://example.com you would want affiliate links redirecting there not to http://subdomain.example.com. I hope this helps.
