Different pricing for initial purchase and renewal + questions about Groups

I'm new to WHMCS and am trying to set up my products. I have 2 main questions.

1. I want to sell my hosting as a package with web development to clients. So for instance a customer's initial purchase would be $500 which is for both the web development and one year's hosting. However when that year is up, the renewal will be something like $100 per year. How do I set that up in the Pricing tab? Would I enter $500 in the Setup Fee One Time text field and $0 in the Annual text field? then $0 in the Price One Time text field and $100 in the Annual text field? That's how I have it now, but I'm not sure if it is correct.

2. Also, I'm looking to sell the hosting with different types of web development services, each one having its own website. Do I break that down into different groups for each web development service and then create the same two types of basic and advanced hosting for each? Each service will be priced differently for the web development, but the basic and advanced hosting renewals pricing and features are exactly the same. What is the best practice for this type of situation? Also, when my customers get their renewal reminder emails, will I be able to distinguish between the groups? for instance X Hosting for Web Development Service 1 or X Hosting for Web Development Service 2, etc.

Thanks, but would I have to already have the web development and hosting as separate products? Then create a bundle with the two of them together? If they purchase that bundle one time, can I set it up so that for renewals they are only charged only the hosting portion?

the way to think of bundles is just like an envelope containing different products - so in your case, your bundle with have two products...

1. web development product... charged one-time

2. hosting... recurring annual cycle... set the price at what you want the renewal cost to be.

so initially the user will buy/pay for both products, and after 12 months (or longer depending on the cycle), they'll receive an invoice for the renewal of the hosting only.

if you wish to, you can hide these two products to prevent them being bought individually... or price them so that it makes no sense to buy them alone, and discount the bundle with an price override.
