When paying for WHMCS for many years being a customer it was expected to have a smooth help and support from WHMCS side for the coming taxation changes which have been even happened so far.

However with new GST India when I asked their support to have some reports for GST India. They says that we need to design those reports our own.

I do understand that Govt of India perhaps have given few weeks time for first reporting that is why its not a urgency however how much is this valid that everyone of us shall design our reports our own. Can't they just help us with having perhaps many 100s or 1000s of users from India alone.

Really strange knowing that we need to have that ourself.

Regards!

Anand

I feel WHMCS does a very good job at supporting the Tax options for most countries. As for new tax rules, I dont feel that WHMCS is obligated to address the concerns at this moment in time. Will this effect WHMCS, most definitely as it restricts the audience. Who is going to purchase this billing manger from India if they have to modify the system for tax, but there are lots of options and features that people think should be added, look at the request > https://requests.whmcs.com/ some of them are good ideas and should automatically be added within WHMCS, the navigation menu and sidebars is a good example, there should be a nav bar editor built into WHMCS for easy customization of the nav menu, but WHMCS decided that everyone should know coding and will have to create hooks to modify the navigation menu..

Not everything can be added into the core files of WHMCS (Well they can, but WHMCS is not going to take the time and energy to jump on every users request and ideas. This just leaves the market open for 3rd party modules to be created.

it's worth noting two things...

1. WHMCS have stated that GST features can be supported with the existing tax settings...

https://requests.whmcs.com/topic/gst-application-in-india

This is already possible. The tax rules are applied and checked in order.

To achieve what you wish, you would need two level one rules.

Rule 1: Create your India -> Mumbai rule

Rule 2: Create a rule for India -> Any State

Then, you would need a single level 2 rule for Mumbai.

As the rules are checked in order, the Mumbai rule would be found first when searching for tax rules. If the state isn't Mumbai then the second rule would be checked.

2. with regards to the reports, you probably wouldn't have to create one from scratch, you could edit the exisitng sales tax liability or VAT MOSS report as use either as a starting point.

alternatively, there are GST products available in the Marketplace - the first of which includes GST reports...

There are Modules available for GST India. It will resolve all your problems associated with GST billing and Invoice generation. These modules are easy to install and provides quality support. You can look for GST modules on WHMCS marketplace.
