Bertie
Hi all, I'm new to the WHMCS product but have a question regarding adding domains to clients. Basically we sell a hosting package which then includes a free 1 year domain name. I have read the documentation regarding domain names and have it set up like that. But doing it this way, their domain name doesn't get listed in the client area under "My Domains" and then they are unable to manage it such as contact info, DNS and would have to come back to us for that. Is there a way to have it both ways? I know you can add the domain name but I don't want invoices being generated for that when the invoice will be generated via the "Product" on a yearly basis. If that all makes sense?

If that all makes sense? it makes sense, but what you're seeing sounds wrong - domains registered/transferred (whether free with a hosting account or not) should be shown in My Domains for the clients to manage. I assume in your product setup, you've ticked the "Require Domain" checkbox ?? because if you haven't, then it would be possible for your customers to order hosting accounts without an associated domain - which could explain why the hosting is shown in their client area but not the domain.

Would this be the case still if we are manually adding the client? As we are moving data from an old setup to a new one but we have to do this manually unfortunately.

Bertie
how have you been entering the data? via the method outlined in the link below... ?? http://docs.whmcs.com/Importing_Data#Manual_Client_Entry By following the "Manual Client Entry" part and also filling in the domain information. Will that generate 2 invoices, one for web hosting and the other for the domain?
Bertie
Its okay I've tested it by modifying the due dates and getting the system to generate the invoice. It adds it onto the invoice as a £0.00 item which is fine.

Bertie
it still seems strange that they're not showing up user My Domains in the client area... Sorry, thought I would come back and confirm it does show the domain in the client area. I originally thought If I filled in the "domain registrar" section that it would generate it's own invoice and add it as a paid item. Everything's all good now - Thanks for replying.
