coastmediagroup
What I am looking for is this: On invoices sent to customers for hosting I want to be able to encourage customers to renew their hosting for 2 or 3 years i.e. Biennually and Triennually. These options are set up in WHMCS. However they are only able to be used on ordering rather than renewing. So in essence I want to say on the invoice "Save 25% by renewing for 2 years" etc. Has anyone done anything like this? Mike
brian!
Hi Mike, What I am looking for is this:On invoices sent to customers for hosting I want to be able to encourage customers to renew their hosting for 2 or 3 years i.e. Biennially and Triennially. These options are set up in WHMCS. However they are only able to be used on ordering rather than renewing. So in essence I want to say on the invoice "Save 25% by renewing for 2 years" etc. Has anyone done anything like this? the problem you're going to have with this is that the first half is easy to do, the second not so much. so adding such a message to the invoice, email or wherever is pretty straightforward to do - you just need to add it to the appropriate template. the problem you are going to find is that, in WHMCS, clients don't have the option to change their billing cycle (unless i've missed a recent change to that!)... they can up/downgrade, but can't change cycles on their current product... an admin can change the cycle, but not the client... best the client can do is ask you to do it and adjust the price... I suppose theoretically, you could duplicate the product with the same name; hide it; make it an upgrade option to the current product - then the client could upgrade and change cycle - but that's a lot of hassle for one product... even more so when you have multiple products. btw - I can remember reading a thread about this topic from 2009... that's how long users have been wanting this feature.
ecayer
This should certainly be added to the next release. Having the option for clients to renew they package should be available.
