hostxls
Hello, Here is Vincent, I have a strange dilemma with my Domain checker. See images included. When searching for a new domain my list only have the options of the most common TLD's But when you do a search for a not listed TLD ( .de) it will say that the domain you entered is not valid. If I want to expand the TLD list, the search will become very slow. I have compare it with other search domain checkers from other hosting parties and theirs seems to be faster. I mean up to 2 or 3 seconds results. Mine is up to 30 - 50 seconds results slow. ( I had this discussed with Brian who explained that how longer the list how slower the search) But for others that seams not to be the case. Could it be that we need some speed coding to get this thing up and running faster then the speed of light? Can someone help me with this. Thanks.
brian!
Hi Vincent, I have a strange dilemma with my Domain checker.See images included. If I want to expand the TLD list, the search will become very slow. you can only search for domains for which you added to domain pricing and entered valid prices for... you haven't added .de or .nl to your domain pricing page, so that's why you can't search for them. you can add more TLDs to your domain pricing page without necessarily slowing the site - it's only when you add them to your TLD search suggestion dropdown list (the one I linked to yesterday, not the one in your screenshot) that you will see a significant reduction in speed. I have compare it with other search domain checkers from other hosting parties and theirs seems to be faster. I mean up to 2 or 3 seconds results. Mine is up to 30 - 50 seconds results slow. ( I had this discussed with Brian who explained that how longer the list how slower the search) the TLD search list, not the domain pricing list - the two are separate! But for others that seams not to be the case. Could it be that we need some speed coding to get this thing up and running faster then the speed of light? there are two ways to do domain searches in WHMCS - using whois and API. by default, you'll be using the whois method - which was a perfectly reasonable process when there weren't too many TLDs... but now that there are thousands available, you need to limit your searches - for reasons of both speed and to avoid breaking whois lookup limits. the alternative is to use an API solution - that will give much faster results but usually needs to be written for use with a specific registrar... often with the option of selling premium domains (which you can't really do via whois). two free modules which provide API search function are shown below - but remember that you might need to use that specific registrar in order to access some, or all, of the module functions.... ResellerClub Tools - https://marketplace.whmcs.com/product/534 Hexonet - https://marketplace.whmcs.com/product/1654 there may be others that i'm not aware of.
hostxls
Hello Brian, I had to shorten the TLD list so that the search would be faster. Bringing it back to the common use TLD's. Now I have to expand the list again. But the problem is, that I need all country TLD's and also the common TLD's. This will make the search very slow because the list is then to long. Oke, I can use an API for that you say. Is their an tech support that can help me to build this? I only want the domain checker(s) to search the normal TLD's and if you enter an .de or .be or .nl it should search does also. Also In WHMCS their is a partner, Enom, which I have registered for and activated this partner. This morning I try to activate a domain name and WHMCS will say that the domain has been registered and active but in real that wasn't the case. I had to check with this registrar if the domain was registered and it wasn't. Now I need to register the domain to a new partner because the system isn't registering or sending the information to the registrar. How can we solve this?
brian!
Hi Vincent, I had to shorten the TLD list so that the search would be faster. Bringing it back to the common use TLD's. Now I have to expand the list again. but you shortened the wrong list - in the domain pricing page add as many TLDs as you want to sell; on the whois configuration page, only highlight those TLDs that you want to additionally search for. as an example, let's say you're offering 100 TLDs (added to domain pricing, and priced) but only .com, .net, .org are highlighted on the "Configure TLD Suggestions" list from yesterday... if I go to your site and search for vincent.nl, as long as the .nl TLD is priced correctly in domain pricing, WHMCS will search for its availability (along with .com, .net & .org). But the problem is, that I need all country TLD's and also the common TLD's. This will make the search very slow because the list is then to long. not the domain pricing list (unless your server is low on PHP memory) - regardless of whether you're using whois or API, the TLDs will have to be added to domain pricing for WHMCS to offer them. btw - if you had been here a few months ago, I could have pointed you to the WHMCS demo - but in their infinite wisdom, WHMCS removed it. Oke, I can use an API for that you say. Is their an tech support that can help me to build this? WHMCS won't help (as these are 3rd-party addons), so you're left with two options. first port of call should be to the developer themselves (as they'll know most about their own products); if that doesn't work, you can post in Service Offers & Requests and pay someone to help you... however, unless you are absolutely desperate to add this feature right now, I would suggest that it might make economic sense to wait a few months until v7 is fully released - otherwise, you may end up paying twice, once to add it to v6 and then again to update it to v7. I only want the domain checker(s) to search the normal TLD's and if you enter an .de or .be or .nl it should search does also. then you need to add those TLDs to domain pricing - unless you do that, WHMCS won't add the domain to the cart process. In WHMCS their is a partner, Enom, which I have registered for and activated this partner. This morning I try to activate a domain name and WHMCS will say that the domain has been registered and active but in real that wasn't the case. I had to check with this registrar if the domain was registered and it wasn't. Now I need to register the domain to a new partner because the system isn't registering or sending the information to the registrar. How can we solve this? anything in your activity log about the registration ? utilities -> logs -> activity log do you have a credit balance with eNom ? although I don't use eNom, so i'm not overly familiar with their setup.
hostxls
Hi Vincent, anything in your activity log about the registration ? utilities -> logs -> activity log do you have a credit balance with eNom ? although I don't use eNom, so i'm not overly familiar with their setup. This is a message I hae sent to Enom. Hello ENOM, I have made Enom my primary domain partner but when I want to register a new domain for my client I receive an error. The payments will go to our account and WHMCS will say that the registration is oke, but when I do a check I can see that the domain isn't registered any where. The domain will not automatically sign into my ENOM account for registration.
brian!
the log should tell you if anything is occurring. I assume you've setup your eNom account correctly as per the instructions, e.g you've whitelisted your IP? http://docs.whmcs.com/Enom
